What We Do

Retaining walls

Retaining walls are structures designed to restrain soil to unnatural slopes. They are used to bind soils between two different elevations often in areas of terrain possessing undesirable slopes, or in areas where the landscape needs to be shaped severely and re-engineered.

Stonemasonry and Paving

Stonemasonry is the craft of shaping rough pieces of rock into accurate geometrical shapes, at times simple, but some of considerable complexity, and then arranging the resulting stones, often together with mortar, to form structures. Not only is a properly masoned structure visually appealing and interesting, it can serve as an important buttress for other landscape features, or an anchorage/climbing point for various plants.

Ambient and Direct Outdoor Lighting

Ambient lighting is the deliberate use of light to achieve a practical or aesthetic effect. Outdoor lighting includes the use of both artificial light sources like lamps and light fixtures, as well as natural illumination by capturing daylight. Day lighting (using windows, skylights, or light shelves) is sometimes used as the main source of light during daytime in buildings. This can save energy in place of using artificial lighting, which represents a major component of energy consumption in buildings. Proper outdoor lighting can enhance your sense of well-being, and even act as a source of inspiration and motivation.

Turf Establishment

With proper care, quality turf can turn a drab, desolate part of your yard into an established, lush lawn. Unlike seed-grown grass, turf is dense and homogeneous, resistant to weed penetration and capable of insulating topsoil against erosion from rain and evaporation. Healthy green grass also produces large amounts of oxygen, and absorbs harmful air pollutants.

Drainage Solutions

Drainage is the natural or artificial removal of surface and sub-surface water from an area. Carefully planned drainage is essential to maintaining a garden full of happy plants, reducing erosion and mud buildup, and safety from flooding in the event of heavy rains.

Erosion control

Erosion control is the practice of preventing or controlling wind or water erosion in agriculture, land development, coastal areas, riverbanks and construction. Effective erosion controls are important techniques in preventing water pollution, soil loss, wildlife habitat loss and human property loss.

Water Features

In landscape architecture and garden design, a water feature is one or more items from a range of fountains, pools, ponds, cascades, waterfalls, and streams. Water features require precise positioning in order to hydrate the air without evaporating too quickly or raising humidity too high.

Rockeries

Rockeries are gardens decorated with rocks, usually a wide variety of interestingly shaped, multicolored rocks, especially quartz. The rocks may form barriers, artistic formations, and anchorage points for climbing plants.

Vertical Garden

A Vertical Garden is an indoor/outdoor modular planter with multiple levels of vertically spaced pots or planters. Its vertical design saves space and water. With a flow through irrigation system, water from the top plants passes to all the lower pots. Different sizes of rack can be used to fit the gardener’s needs. It can be tall with five levels of plants for a larger garden, or it can be built lower to the ground and longer. Using the vertical space instead of horizontal space is an important feature for those short of planting area in condos, or apartments with small balconies.

Watering Systems

The forces of nature don’t know which of your plants or patches of lawn need more or less water, water simply gathers where the landscape directs it. Proper drainage will keep your garden from drowning, but without planned watering systems, you’ll be spending a long time with a watering can! Proper irrigation is essential for any landscaping project involving a higher volume of plant life. It allows nature to take care of your garden for you!
